The Sacred Heart – Opening the Mystery
It is what we generally term as the “heart” that knows the universal story intrinsically and can guide our mind to achieving what we are here for. Perhaps no one has said it better than Albert Einstein:
“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”
It is interesting to note a brilliant scientist having such profound insight into the “intuitive” dimension of consciousness, the aspect many understand as their heart. Of course the word “heart” has been overused to the point of cliché. But nonetheless, the “sacred heart,” the core dimension of our nature, intuitively understands the universal theme because the sacred heart is the pathway to our perennial engagement.
The “sacred heart” illuminates the pathway of Love.
The quest of the sacred heart is expressed many ways by various spiritual systems and religions. Regardless of their key differences, their essential goal is the same; the linking of the temporal aspect of consciousness with the universal aspect. In holistic terms this is the marriage between time and timelessness, or the alchemy of masculine and feminine principals.
In the following segment we will see how this union is expressed in the most intimate of ways, the direct experience of profound Love with another.
